Process Plus Content Creates Results

It is not good enough to know your stuff - you need to be able to have a process to facilitate the desired outcome as well. We have all been to meetings with a group of experts who know the material inside-out, but we leave the meeting having accomplished nothing. You can sit and gab about what you want to do, and where you need to be, but without a framework to structure and organize the actions you have nothing.

The process of needs analysis (defining the current and the desired) and the resulting action plan (how to get from the current to where you desire to be) can be used to put a framework process around the content. Application of process to the content provides required structure and organization required for effective results.

Only through content and process can you achieve success.

The real neat thing is that at a meeting you need content people, but you also need someone to facilitate the process. Ideally your process facilitator stays out of content, and your content people stay out of process. With someone with an eye on process and with others eyeing content you can build successful results.
